Environmental Policy
Eness Lighting is at the forefront of energy efficient lighting technology having developed our unique range of energy efficient lighting solutions including luminaires, lamps and control gear.
Recognising the growing awareness of lighting's effect upon the environment, Eness is continually looking to minimise our own environmental impact and contribute to sustainability by addressing the following key issues.
- Environmental regulations and codes of practice are regarded as setting the minimum standards of environmental performance and we will strive to improve .
- We are focused on using recycled materials wherever possible.
- Minimise the waste our operation produces, especially hazardous waste, and recycle materials wherever possible. We will also dispose of all our waste safely and responsibly.
- Prevent pollution, emissions and discharges, which may have an adverse environmental impact on the local communities in which we operate.
- We are continually working with component manufacturers, suppliers and contractors in order to ensure they maintain the same environmental standards as Eness Lighting.
- Ensure employee involvement in environmental matters is encouraged at all levels and is promoted through training, communications and a constant reappraisal of working methods and techniques.
- Annual reporting of our environmental performance.
Our unique position of being totally independent of lamp and gear manufacturers enables to select and use the most energy efficient supplies and components. However we is not the only driver in component choice; the quality of components is critical to the lifetime energy cost of a product in relation to component replacement, maintenance and the associated CO2 that is generated.
All Eness products are fully compliant with current European legislation, standards and industry codes of practice. They are also RoHS (Restriction of the use of Hazardous Substances) compliant which limits the amount of such "hazardous" waste entering the environment
Eness is also a WEEE compliant manufacturer, which requires that the company which places a product on the market fulfil its responsibility for the re-cycling of that product at its end of its life.
