Eness Hits the Heart of Glasgow’s Finance District
Eness Lighting has seen its Indus LED downlight and Telescopium LED wall washing luminaire being installed in a prestigious office development in the heart of Glasgow’s financial district.
The contract demonstrates the growing demand from property developers to include LED lighting and capitalise on the dramatic energy savings and long term maintenance benefits that the technology offers.
Eness’ Telescopium linear LED fitting is used to provide the feature external lighting to the perimeter of the top floor – an area that would traditionally required the use of 70Watt Metal Halides.
Eness’ Managing Director, Norrie Scott, said “The Telescopium fitting is able to achieve comparable light levels with a spread of up to 12 metres in height and requiring as little as 18 Watts presents energy savings of approximately 65%.”
He continued “Add in the benefit of a life expectancy of 50,000 hours and the availability of RGB colour changing facilities and it’s not hard to see why property developers are investing in LED lighting.”
Developers PPG also incorporated Eness’ highly successful Indus Mk1 LED downlight to provide functional lighting to a number of internal areas.
Norrie added, “Hundreds of projects across the UK have benefitted from the flexibility and power of the Indus downlight. Whilst the Mk 1 is used for more atmospheric applications, its big brother, the Mk 2, now features seven high powered LEDs which provide enhanced light levels and make it a real competitor to the traditional sources of downlight.”
